PALISADE™ synthetic roofing underlayment is truly
a revolutionary advanced technology product specifically
designed for the most wide ranging and toughest steep slope
roofing application challenges.
Possessing breakthrough, category leading STRONGHOLD™
skid resistant technology1,
PALISADE™ is engineered to provide the roofer
the most advanced synthetic underlayment steep slope surface
traction product on the marketplace today. STRONGHOLD™
is designed for the most demanding steep slope conditions of wet
& dusty surface environments. Unlike smooth or hard polymer
surfaced underlayments which become extremely slippery when wet
or dusty2,
STRONGHOLD™ skid resistant technology utilizes a highly
engineered raised surface profile pattern of
soft and resilient rubberized polymer dots which act as
grip/anchor points which deliver category leading skid resistant
performance in wet/dusty conditions3.
This superior skid resistant technology also results in improved
ability to hold roof loaded items such as tile, shingle packs,
underlayment rolls; all without the use of hard grit particles
that increase product weight, easily dislodge, and scratch metal
roofing systems.
Designed for additional roofer safety in mind, PALISADE™
also possesses skid resistant technology on the
underside, thus reducing the incidence of slippage between the
underlayment and deck. PALISADE™ is
100% FELT FREE and designed with high strength
polymers. This delivers 6X lighter and 30X greater tear
strength compared to 30 lb. asphalt felt underlayment.
This incredible strength delivers reduced blow-offs during
exposed roof conditions and reduced tear away which
plagues felt paper (6:1 cap nail pull strength vs. 30 lb. felt),
as well as reduced installation & roof surface traffic damage.
PALISADE™ is light weight (10 squares per 40
lb. roll), and comes in wide width and 290 ft. roll length for
enhanced productivity. Now you can do more jobs faster
with fewer rolls, fewer laps and fewer fasteners.
To deliver a complete capability single roll product for
incredible versatility, PALISADE™ has been
designed with advanced flame retardant polymer formulation
technology1, and is
CLASS A rated (ASTM E108/UL790) when used in
combination with metal, concrete and clay tile, composition
shingle, slate, or non fire retardant wood shake roofing systems4.
PALISADE™ also possesses advanced UV
polymer technology to deliver up to 6 months
exposure protection before the primary roofing covering
has to be installed. This provides roofer and customer
outstanding job scheduling flexibility and security during
extended exposed roof conditions, and avoids the need for tarps.
This exposure performance eliminates the old technology felt
paper practice of having to immediately cover over felt
underlayment because of the chronic occurrence of wrinkling,
blow offs and UV damage, especially in high wind and/or wet
conditions.

For demanding high temperature metal roofing systems such as zinc
and copper, PALISADE™ is designed with high
temperature polymers, providing a 300°F rated product.
Furthermore, being a 100% felt free synthetic polymer product
free of asphalt oils, PALISADE™ does not
require the use of rosin paper or other separator sheets between
the underlayment and primary metal roofing underside as required
with asphalt felt underlayments (added cost savings).
To provide roofers a cool product to work with, as well as a
cooler roof, PALISADE™ has been engineered with
a unique KOOL BLUE™ high reflectance color
technology1 designed
for low surface temperature, low energy (heat up) absorption, as
well as low glare. This results in PALISADE™
being 8X cooler than black felt underlayment.
Unlike asphalt felt underlayments which leach oils at elevated
temperatures, and become slick and messy to work with,
PALISADE™ is 100% oil free, and provides roofers a
cooler, cleaner, and safer product to work with.
PALISADE™ is 100% polymer synthetic, so unlike asphalt
felt underlayments, PALISADE™ has extremely low
water absorption, which means it lays flatter for
reduced buckling/wrinkling; a problem which
fundamentally plagues felt paper underlayments. The use of high
temperature, high strength polymers in PALISADE™
results in superb flexibility of unrolling/handling in a wide
temperature range (-70° to 300°). As a polymer synthetic
PALISADE™ does not support mold growth.
PALISADE™ is ICC ESR-1847
building code approved nationally, as well as 2005 Florida
Building Code, High Velocity Hurricane Zone Approved
(HVHZ) for use under roofing tile... the
ONLY synthetic underlayment on the market
today meeting this toughest of building code standards (FL-5325.1).
PALISADE™ with revolutionary STRONGHOLD™
skid resistant technology represents the most advanced synthetic
roofing underlayment on the marketplace today. PALISADE™
combines several advanced polymer technologies to deliver
superior safety, advanced performance, and tremendous value to
the most demanding roofing contractors.
